We believe that music education is not extracurricular. Music is one of the chief ways people interact with the world around them. Appreciating and understanding how music works directly affects a young learner's ability to grasp scientific and mathematical concepts, as well as fluency in reading and writing. Yet music education is no longer a priority in public schools. The Seaton School of Music was founded to bring music education back into the lives of our children and yours.
Matt Seaton
Founder & CEO
Matt Seaton has been teaching private instruction for 20+ years. As an elementary school music teacher in the High Desert, Matt designed and created the SLAM Music™ program that is now the heart of our school. He majored in both music and mathematics at Utah Valley University, and worked as an Algebra and Calculus tutor. Matt has been a professional songwriter, touring performer, and Audio Producer/Engineer for over 25 years, and continues to write, perform, record, and release original music today.
MELISSA SEATON
CFO
Melissa has been an elementary school teacher since 2005. Having earned her Master's degree from California State University, she is currently an Education Specialist for VESD, working with students from kindergarten through 6th grade. She has dedicated her career to helping struggling students improve their language and math comprehension. A former choir singer herself, Melissa knows that a strong music education is the missing piece most young learners need to help them through their biggest hurdles in school.
